Financial overviews unravelled

To be able to speak finance and understand the interdependencies is a true profession. But that does not mean that you are excused nor that you can avoid to have the financial responsibilities within your own profession. The financial overviews and terms do not need to stay a pile of numbers. All financial overviews are based on a set of predefined principles and have a similar structure. They all represent the real situation in a structured way. Together with the other members of the group the experiences and problems are discussed. During the training a lot of time is spend on understanding the logic so you are able to make the translation to your own situation.
At the end of the course you are able to:
- Understand the most important principles of financial overviews;
- Read the most common financial overviews;
- Use the most important financial terms in a discussion and place them overall;
- Assess when to call in a financial expert for advice and;
- Have a better in depth discussion with the financial expert of your company.
During the morning the most important principles of finance are discussed and placed overall. Subsequently the most important overviews are presented: The Profit and Loss account, the Balance sheet and the Cash-flow statement. After lunch the submissions from the participants are discussed. The latter is done to incorporate the theory presented. The discussions in the group lead to an improved understanding and bring theory and practice together.
